Accreditation
Determining the quality of a degree program is an important step in the enrollment
process. National or regional accreditation is a process that gives public recognition
to institutions that meet certain standards. It is a promise that an institution
will provide the quality of education it claims to offer. Accreditation assures
you that the institution operates on a sound financial basis, has an approved
program of study, qualified instructors, adequate facilities and equipment, approved
recruitment and admission policies, and advertises its courses truthfully. Upper
Iowa University is accredited by the North
Central Association the same status as Northwestern University and University of Michigan. Recognized
by both the U. S. Department of Education and Council for Higher Education Accreditaton (CHEA), the Association is one of six regional institutional accrediting associations
in the United States. The MBA and undergraduate business degree programs also
hold accreditation by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).
Upper Iowa University is a nonprofit organization founded in 1857. It has no
shareholders or private ownership but is controlled by a board of trustees.
