Our Accreditation




The University is approved by the Louisiana Higher Education Board, the Wisconsin Educational Approval Board, and the Iowa Department of Education
 
The Upper Iowa University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) is part of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). UIU is recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
 
The University is accredited by the North Central Association (http://www.ncahigherlearningcommission.org). NCA, founded in 1895, is one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States.
   
The University is an institutional member of Council for Higher Education Accreditation (http://www.chea.org). CHEA is a private, nonprofit national organization that coordinates accreditation activities in the United States.
 
The Upper Iowa University is listed as a worldwide recognized institutions in IAU Database in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO, www.unesco.org) The database includes information available on the higher education systems of some 180 countries and territories worldwide.

The programs offered are approved by the states of Iowa, Kansas (restricted), Louisiana, Texas, and Wisconsin for veterans’ benefits.
   
The MBA and undergraduate business degree programs conferred by the University also hold accreditation by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).

Worldwide recognition

Upper Iowa University is accredited by the North Central Association the same status as Northwestern University and University of Michigan. Recognized by both the U. S. Department of Education and Council for Higher Education Accreditaton (CHEA), the Association is one of six regional institutional accrediting associations in the United States. The MBA and undergraduate business degree programs also hold accreditation by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).

Upper Iowa University is currently licensed by the Board of Regents of the State of Louisiana. Licenses are renewed by the State Board of Regents every two years. Licensed institutions have met minimal operational standards set forth by the state, but licensure does not constitute accreditation, guarantee the transferability of credit, nor signify that programs are certifiable by any professional agency or organization.
